You’ve seen what happens when a business runs on a system. Vision gets clear, execution takes hold, and the whole thing starts running on rhythm instead of on whoever happens to show up with the most energy that week. It works. And it works in almost every part of the business. Except sales.
I’ve watched this play out across hundreds of companies. The leadership team is locked in, the strategic plan is dialed, the meeting cadence is running clean, and sales is still operating on instinct, personality, and the heroics of whoever the best rep happens to be this quarter. That is not a system. That is a gamble dressed up as a strategy. And none of the revenue goals for the year mean anything if there is no real engine built to actually hit them.
That gap is exactly why we built what comes next.
The Sales Collective is becoming The System of Selling™.
I started The Sales Collective on one promise: to fix a broken sales profession built on outdated tactics, poor onboarding, weak hiring, one-size-fits-all sales training, and environments that set good people up to fail before they ever had a real chance. That mission has not changed. What changed is where the work led us.
Over the past five years, we have worked with more than 500 companies to rebuild their hiring process, redesign how they sell, and develop their teams. And the same uncomfortable truth kept surfacing. When sales underperforms, leadership almost always falls back on the same set of “fixes” that didn’t work the last time. Blame the salespeople, buy a new tech tool, set higher goals, or “adjust” the comp plan. None of it sticks. Because it was never a talent problem. It was always a system design problem.
The System of Selling™ is where that work leads. We are building what sales has always needed and never had: a true execution system, with the clarity, accountability, scorecard discipline, and proven process that great operators already expect everywhere else in the business.
Here is what is not changing: the talent, the experience, the depth across sales process, hiring, and training. Sales DNA is not going anywhere. We are not walking away from what made us successful. We are re-engineering how that expertise is delivered, installed as a repeatable system rather than a one-time engagement, in language that operators already understand.
Here is what to expect: over the next several months, your newsletter will start arriving from The System of Selling™. The Sales Collective site stays online, but all new content, tools, and updates will live at thesystemofselling.com and on our LinkedIn profiles. If you want to make sure you never miss an update, please add our new sending domain, thesystemofselling.com, to your email contacts.
This did not happen because of a rebrand strategy or a marketing decision. It happened because it is the right next step for the people we serve.
The mission is the same. The standards are the same. We are simply bringing them together in a way that is more structured, more scalable, and more honest about what it actually takes to build a sales engine that runs without you.
Our best work is still ahead.
