One thing I learned way too late in life…
Spend time with people who deserve it.
There are plenty of people in your life who truly care about you, who sincerely want the best for you, and truly value spending time with you.
Blow them off. Ignore them. Don’t text them back. Put them down.
Oftentimes, it’s the people closest to you that you do this to.
It could be family, friends, your spouse, your kids, colleagues, neighbors, and the list goes on and on.
On the flip side, you should also never BEG for people’s time.
If they truly care about you and want to be around you, they will.
Their actions are displayed loudly and clearly for the whole world to see and if you can’t see it (or choose not to), that’s on you and it will hurt you tremendously in the long run.
If people can’t see that you’re awesome, amazing to be around, caring, genuine, sassy, sarcastic, and whatever else makes you great, that’s on them.
Pound sand. F off. Don’t let the door hit ‘ya where the….
People will give you every excuse as to why they “couldn’t make it” or why they’re “so busy.”
We all make time in our lives for the things we want to do and the people we truly want to spend time with. Period.
You’ve got to make the tough decision to eliminate people from your life who don’t value you. The people who don’t deserve your time shouldn’t get it and they certainly shouldn’t be allowed to take it away from the people who do.
Your heart, spirit, mind, and soul will thank you for it.
