About Me

Over a 30-year career in sales, I’ve been fortunate to have been an individual contributor and a leader for every functional area of a sales organization. I’ve pounded the pavement to hunt for and close business. I’ve managed a portfolio of key accounts to grow and expand them to their full potential. I’ve managed sales and revenue operations and led enablement and sales development teams. I’ve led front-line sales teams, regions, and entire global teams at the senior executive level. This experience and all of the failures and successes that come with it, provides me a unique lens to view the challenges and opportunities of sales through. I can relate to members of sales teams and leaders alike because I’ve done the work, taken the lumps, and fully understand the what it takes to succeed in one of the most important business functions in any company.

How I Have Helped Businesses

* Reorganized and retooled the sales teams at 6 venture capital and private equity funded starts-ups for scale and rapid growth. Each of the 6 made it to a successful exit through acquisition.
* Increased annual sales bookings at a client company from $17M to $26M while also improving Gross Profit on booked sales by 5% in one year while operating as the interim CRO.
* Drove the average order value at a software company from $18K to $31K in 9 months by designing and implementing a sales hiring process, onboarding, and enablement program that up-skilled the team and drove improved results.
* Designed a unified sales training and enablement program for a global company with over 350 sales people that had been built by acquiring and combining the resources and products of 4 different companies.
* Helped increase the close percentage of a client sales team by 18% after a 90-day sales training and coaching engagement.
* Stood up a sales operations function at a client company from scratch. Selected and implemented a CRM and other sales technology. Created the sales process and all sales analytics, metrics, reports, and dashboards the company uses to predict and measure sales performance. The sales team routinely forecasts within 5-7% accuracy on a quarterly basis using the forecast methodology I taught them.
* Increased customer renewals / retention on $40M in existing business from 70% to 92% while also growing revenue from existing accounts by $18M in one year.
