Follow, follow, follow, follow, follow the Yellow Brick Funnel.
If ever a wonderful “guru” there was, the “Guru” of Oz is one because,
Because, because, because, because, because…
Because of the wonderful things he does.
We’re off to see the “guru”, the wonderful “Guru” of Oz!You can hear it in your head, can’t you?As we learned in the movie, the “Wizard” turned out to be a traveling charlatan, bilking his victims with false hopes, empty promises, and phony wisdom.Professor Marvel was a fake. When Dorothy and her crew finally arrived at Oz, all their hopes and dreams were dashed. They had heard all the amazing and wonderful things this “Wizard” could do. He could magically give people courage and provide working, human organs. The “great” and “all-powerful” Oz turned out to be a crook. His veil of excellence had been pulled back. Behind the curtain, thanks to a smart little dog named Toto, Professor Marvel’s scam had finally been revealed. You need to look behind the curtain.Use common sense. The misleading ads, fake promises, phony work histories, and false claims have been permeating this industry for far too long.
There are too many “wizards” to mention, but most of themselves go by the moniker, “guru.”
Ok, let’s get this straight.
You’ve never earned a million dollars, yet you’re going to teach me how to do it…
You’ve never sold anything successfully, but you’re going to teach me how to sell…
You’ve never built a thriving coaching business yourself, but you’re going to teach me how to coach…
You’re in a picture with another “guru” that you paid for, and we’re supposed to think you’re great friends and just as qualified to teach us because you’re standing next to him…
You’re world famous, you claim to have millions upon millions of dollars, and you’re still hawking courses…
You’ve got Lambos, a private jet, expensive watches, a trophy wife, yet you advertise on social media like you’re running out of money…
You’ve been “successful” for 10, 20, or 30 years, but you’ll do every and any joint venture, webinar, summit, or Zoom meeting you can get your hands on…
I can’t be the only Toto out there. I can’t be the only one who sees behind the curtain and recognizes the truth.
I will promise you this. If I ever get to the point these “gurus” claim they’re already at, and of course they tell you that you can easily get there too, you’ll never see me.
If I had $50M, I sure as hell wouldn’t be posting blogs, I wouldn’t be speaking at events or promoting my content.
I’d be done. I’d be fishing, relaxing, watching the monkeys from my deck in Costa Rica. Yes, I actually do own a house there. It’s real. It’s mine, I earned it. I didn’t pay the owner to shoot videos there and I didn’t park rented Lambos in the driveway for my content.
As John Ryan in Wedding Crashers so eloquently stated –
“Claire, I’m not standing here asking you to marry me. I’m just asking you, not to marry him.”
I don’t mind if you don’t follow me, take the Sales DNA Test, buy my course, or join my weekly group. It really doesn’t matter to me.
What I’m asking you is to take a deeper look. Use logic and reason before you decide to buy from a “guru”.
Please look behind the curtain. From the outside it looks like the Emerald City, but on the inside…well, you know the rest by now.
